I was born in post-revolutionary Cuba in 1987 and trained under the Russian Academy’s influence, which shaped my artistic foundation. My work is rooted in history—especially the tension between memory and official narratives. Growing up amid censorship and limited access to contemporary art, I learned to deconstruct symbols and reframe historical references to bridge past and present. Through figurative imagery and reconstructed personal stories, I question accepted truths and explore alternate realities. I’m less interested in historical accuracy than in capturing the emotional truth behind events—creating illusionary worlds that reflect the complexities of identity, perception, and memory.
